Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd. is the first foreign Joint Venture Company in Nepal in General Insurance with joint venture partner Ceylinco Insurance PLC of Sri Lanka (awarded “CNCI Achievers Industrial Excellence – 2002 Gold Medal by The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries among the best industry in the SAARC Region). Our joint venture partnership with Ceylinco Insurance PLC in 1999 signaled a new sign of things to come.

During the devastating earthquakes of 2015, Sagarmatha Insurance successfully managed and settled 2630 claims amounting to a total of Rs. 1.9 Arab from the two major quakes that shook the country.

The Company has an authorized capital of NRs. 5 Billion and Paid-Up capital Rs.1.33 billion. Out of the Paid-Up capital, 51 % by Promoters, 20 % by our joint venture partner Ceylinco Insurance Company, PLC, and the balance 29% by public shareholders.
